Lymecycline is an antibacterial medicine, which helps stop the bacterial infection. In addition, it is recommended for patients suffering from chest, urinal, skin and mouth infections. You should avoid taking this medicine if you are suffering from kidney or liver problems. Tell the GP up front if you are allergic to Lymecycline or any other ingredient contained in the medicine. In addition, you should give prior information to the GP in case you are allergic to any other tetracycline or if you are already taking antibiotic treatment for any other condition. In case of women, if you are planning to have a baby or if you are pregnant, you should seek advice from your GP before using this medicine. Lymecycline capsules should not be taken if you are breast feeding as it may hinder proper growth of the teeth and lead to permanent discoloration. Besides this, you should also inform your GP if you are taking any oral retinoid, anti-coagulants, diuretics, oral contraceptives or epilepsy medicines like barbiturates or methoxyflurane. You should take indigestion medicines, ulcer healing drugs, quinapril and calcium, aluminium and magnesium supplements after at least 2 hours from taking Lymecycline. Lymecycline capsule is not recommended for use in children below the age of 12 years. It can cause permanent discoloration of teeth and hinder the development of bones. In case you experience any side effects after the consumption of the capsules, avoid taking it immediately and seek advice from the GP.
Ingestion of lymecycline capsules may result in some common side effects among fewer people. Avoid taking the medicine if you are allergic to lymecycline or any other ingredient contained in the capsule. Most of the common side effects that occur in 1 among 10 people include nausea, vomiting, dizziness, abdominal pain, diarrhoea and headache. In case you experience any serious side effects like fever, itchiness and inflammation, you should stop taking the medicine immediately and consult your GP regarding further use of lymecycline. Some of the side effects like difficulty in swallowing food, liver damage, inflammation of the pancreas, teeth decolouration, soreness and itching of genitals, colon infection, permanent visual loss and inflammation and soreness of the tongue are because of the use of tetracyclines Consult the GP immediately if you observe any of these. Report the GP in case you experience some other side effects not listed here.
You should take this medicine as directed by the GP. If you are not sure about the dosage, ask your GP for advice. For acne, only capsule should be taken in a day, preferably in the morning. The duration of taking the medicine depends on how quickly the condition gets cured. It normally takes around 8 weeks to shows signs of improvement. In case of it is used for treating infections, the usual dosage is twice a day. Your GP can recommend a higher dose or a lower dose, depending on the severity and the type of infection. Lymecycline capsules should always be taken with water. If you have taken too much of medicine or a child has accidentally swollen a capsule, then you must immediately consult your GP or visit the nearest hospital. Do not take a double the dose to make up for a missed dose. If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember it and then take the next dose at the right time. Generally, acne responds very slowly to antibiotics. It is very important to take all the Lymecycline capsules that the GP has recommended to stop the infection. If you stop taking the medicine too soon, your condition may become worse or may even come back.
Lymecycline use should be completely avoided in case you are allergic to any of its ingredients or tetracyclines. The antibiotic works by interfering with the ability of bacteria to produce proteins that are necessary for the bacteria to develop and spread. The suppression of the protein production ultimately triggers bacterial death, which are eventually eliminated by the immune system. Therefore, the antibiotic works by killing the bacteria that cause acne as a result of an infection. Lymecycline capsules to should be stored at temperatures not more than 25°C. The capsules might lose its effectiveness if stored over the specified temperature. The medicine should be kept out of the reach of children in order to avoid unintentional accidents. Direct exposure to sunlight must also be prevented. Discard the medicine in case it has reached the date of expiry. Read the expiry date given on the carton to check the same. However, it should not be disposed via wastewater or household waste as a measure to protect the environment.
